September 3rd - 7th 2025 Hradec Králové and surroundings

About the fiesta

The Fiesta follows in the footsteps of the previous six editions of the balloon fiesta Balloons Over Rozkoš, which took place from 2019 to 2024. The 2025 edition will continue this tradition while expanding to include flights over Hradec Králové to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the city’s first recorded mention. As a result, the fiesta will last one day longer, starting on Wednesday, September 3, with a flight from Hradec Králové. To maintain the tradition of the previous six years, on Thursday, September 4, the balloons will move to the Rozkoš area, where two flights are planned—a morning flight from Nové Město nad Metují and an evening flight from Česká Skalice.

We deeply appreciate the support of local governments, sponsors, spectators, and landowners who have supported us over the past six years. We do not want to disappoint them, which is why we aim to continue the tradition, ensuring that balloons will once again appear over Rozkoš in 2025. The 2026 edition will return to its classic Thursday-to-Sunday format around Rozkoš.

From Friday, September 5, to Sunday, September 7, 2025, a total of 80 hot air balloons will fly over Hradec Králové. The morning flights will be competitive, with each crew choosing its own launch site to ensure the most precise flight over the White Tower. The starting locations will depend on the current wind direction, creating highly attractive situations where balloons will be inflated in parks and open spaces across the city. The closer the takeoff point, the better the chance of hitting the target.

In the evenings, the balloons will launch together from a shared field in front of Rubena on Akademika Bedrny Street (behind Kaufland). These launches are expected to attract a large audience, so refreshments and an accompanying program will be available. Especially on Friday, September 5, this location will host a major balloon afternoon featuring balloon launches, an evening burner show with music, a live band performance, and other attractions. Please follow our updates to get all the necessary information, particularly regarding weather conditions.

We kindly ask visitors attending the Friday and Saturday evening launches to use alternative means of transport instead of cars, as parking at the site will be very limited.

Please keep in mind that hot air balloon flights are highly dependent on suitable and safe weather conditions. Weather can significantly impact the planned schedule, so stay tuned for updates where you will find the latest information. Thank you for your understanding.
